The great popularity of the Eurovision festival has been proved these last days after the great raise on bets over who will finally be the winner of the 2008 edition of the most important music event in the European continent. It will be celebrated this May 24th in Belgrade, capital city of the Republic of Serbia.
In Spain, one of the most important betting agencies has made up a ranking based on the numerous bets received. There is not a clear favorite yet, but the chances have been settled for some candidates. For example, the contestant of Spain, Rodolfo Chiquilicuatro, is located in the 12th position by Spanish gamblers, which reflects that the local star is not always the favorite to place bets.
Evidently, the fewer the chances of a contestant to win Eurovision, the highest the pay for those who bet on him/her, if he or she finally turns out to be the winner. Until now, one of the greatest amounts to be paid is the one that will be won by those who bet on Gisela, the representative of Andorra. If she is finally crowned as the winner, each gambler will be paid 41 euros for each euro they bet.
The 2008 edition of Eurovision will offer a varied musical and entertainment show in more than 20 languages, with styles ranging from hard rock to romantic songs. The winner will be chosen by the audience of the 45 countries participating, who will be able to vote over the phone or via SMS
